“Lights and music: a psychedelic experience”, a visual show within the Purple Weekend Festival

Last Thursday, December 5, within the cultural activities of the Purple Weekend Festival 2019, and the opening of the exhibition “Escuchando colores, viendo sonidos”, an audiovisual session was held in the hall of the MUSAC (Museum of Contemporary Art of Castilla y León).

The music was in charge of DJ Carlos Dorian who performed an original vinyl music session with the visual support of the artist Alex Plays and his fully analog liquid Show, as it was done in the 60s in mythical venues such as the UFO Club in London or the Fillmore in San Francisco. The musical session, focused on acid sounds, related a trip from the first psychedelia of the mid-60s, through the Paisley Underground of the 80s, the Britpop of the 90s to the current NeoPsych, It was also a global journey throughout the planet with bands from Canada, USA, Australia, UK, Spain … spinning records from bands as like Jefferson Airplane, The Left Banke, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Los Pasos or current bands like The Brian Jonestown Massacre, PAUW or the newly released single from California’s Electric Looking Glass.
